So I absolutely cannot believe I am writing this blog post right now. Here I am FINALY sharing the web design & branding for my new site. Six years ago, as a broke college student, I decided to start a blog. I really enjoyed blogging but found that tinkering with CSS and HTML was kinda satisfying. Manipulating sites to make them as aesthetically pleasing as possible got addicting. Flash forward to today and I am launching my web design and branding business. Because of that, for my first post I thought it wouldn’t be a terrible idea to give you guys a little sneak peak to the behind the scenes of my website.
Can I tell you designing for your self is SO freaking hard. I know those of you who are designers or creatives can totally relate. But here it is after probably three or so semi-rebranding (yeah it was that bad, #reformedperfectionistinprogress). Treating myself like a client was the most efficient way to get stuff done (because I hate wasting time). For my branding I wanted to have a modern, clean, slightly edgy and chic feel. So, here you go…
Truth be told I’m such a nerd sometimes and am a little obsessed with designing websites. Okay, a lot obsessed, it’s what I do so I should be, right? As much as I really enjoy the aesthetic and visual part of design you can’t really create the best websites without strategy and purpose. Part of that meant that I wanted to keep things clean and direct to avoid confusion and copious amounts of scrolling through unending paragraphs and pages. I’m a “to-the-point” kind of girl so naturally I want my site to be an extension of that. Any other minimalists out there? For a deeper look into the design you can visit the full website to look around at all the other pages and if you want to see some more of my work check out my latest client’s new website and branding.
